Terms and Conditions

Newcastle Jockey Club's Terms and Conditions are provided for the enjoyment, comfort and safety of its Members and all patrons.
  • Guests are not permitted to enter the venue with any of the following:
    • Alcohol
    • Glass
    • Dangerous weapons including knives
    • Food. Please contact NJC for further information.

  • The only beverages permitted to be brought onto the course are unopened plastic bottles of water.

  • Newcastle Jockey Club will not allow any non-conforming items to be brought on to the course and reserves the right to check personal goods / bags / eskies that are brought into or taken out of the course.

  • Newcastle Jockey Club has the right to refuse entry to any person.

  • NJC is a licensed venue and a condition of this license prohibits entry for the purpose of "Bucks" parties.

  • Any patron carrying or wearing any commercially-labelled items (especially conflicting with NJC sponsors) will be refused entry.

  • Any gift which has been wrapped will be opened for content check and resealed prior to being brought on to the course.

  • Groups of patrons may be asked to leave a contact for the day and/or sign a disclaimer upon entry to the course. This will ensure ease of communication if the need arises throughout the day.

  • It is a requirement of law that you produce identification and information on request.

  • Newcastle Jockey Club will not tolerate any intoxicated, violent, quarrelsome or disorderly behaviour. Offenders will be refused entry or ejected and may face prosecution.

  • Newcastle Jockey Club is a licensed venue. No minors are allowed on the premises unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. A wristband system is in place, whereby all guardians to wear a yellow G wristband and their minors a yellow M wristband - these will be issued at front gate. The parent or guardian must accompany all children under the age of 18 entering the venue at all times.

  • Servicing or supply of alcohol to minors under 18 is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Offenders will be passed on to Police.

  • There are areas on course that are monitored by CCTV for patrons' safety and security.

  • Any person entering the Members enclosure must abide by the Members dress regulations.

  • Smoking is not permitted in enclosed areas.

  • Patrons may be photographed, filmed or recorded for promotional purposes at the racecourse and each patron acknowledges and agrees that Newcastle Jockey Club may use any such image, film or recording in its sole discretion and without the need to account to or obtain any further consent from the patron.

  • Unauthorised persons are not permitted on to the track (racecourse proper) at any time. Trespassers will be prosecuted.

  • Treasure hunts are not permitted.

  • Newcastle Jockey Club will not necessarily refund any monies if a race meeting is abandoned or cancelled by order of the Stewards.

  • Newcastle Jockey Club takes no responsibility for damage or loss of material, equipment or personal items brought to the course.

  • Newcastle Jockey Club has the right to revise and change Menu, Beverage List and Charges without notice. This includes placing limitations of number of beverages being served to a patron and ceasing services of spirits.

  • Tickets are not refundable if refused entry or evicted from the course due to infringing any of the above.

  • Refunds will not be given in the case of bad weather as this is not in the control of Newcastle Jockey Club.

  • NO UNAUTHORIZED USE OF PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT
    All patrons are to be informed that the use of camera’s or recording equipment for commercial purposes on the premises of the Newcastle Jockey Club is STRICTLY PROHIBITED without the permission of the CEO.

    Unauthorised use include the capture of images :
    • of any NJC building or venue asset
    • of any live thoroughbred racing
    • of racing staff or employees of the NJC
    • of any persons who are not of their acquaintance

    Any patrons refusing to comply with the above policy will be removed from the venue.

 

By entering Newcastle Jockey Club property all patrons are acknowledging they have read and understand the Terms and Conditions.
